The SAFE4RAIL-3 and CONNECTA-3 projects are driving the development of the next generation network for Train Control and Monitoring Systems (TCMS). This network will enable all control parameters of the TCMS subsystems to be transmitted digitally over an electronic network, eliminating the need for conventional railway lines. This not only reduces costs, but also maintains the required level of safety. The next generation network will support the simultaneous integration of both safety and non-safety functions.
